During his quest to save the kingdom, Prince Steven will run into many
challenging enemies which he will need to battle and defeat in order to grow
When normal weapons don't cut it, it's time to throw in a little magic! The
prince of Shatt has the opportunity to gather and use over 35 powerful spells
to aid him in his efforts to save the land from darkness. Some of these spells
are learned by the prince as he moves up in experience points and attains new
levels, while others are given him as gifts from friends and allies. Still
more magic exists that is hidden in various spots of the game, waiting to be
discovered and unleashed. The more spells the prince can collect, the more
efficient he will be in battle.
There are nine different spell categories: Earth, Fire, Wind, Water,
Darkness, Light, Voodoo, Control and Spirit. Below are some examples of what
kind of magic spells you can obtain throughout the course of the game.
The game's combat system is very advanced, presenting many options to the
player. The prince can be instructed to attack with his current weapon, cast a
magic spell, use an item, attempt to escape from battle - there's even an

group of cat bandits. Cats generally dislike water, and they especially
dislike it when it is acidic!
Hellfire is an extremely powerful spell, one that the prince should definitely
pick up if he hopes to succeed in his quest. Notice how the floor and walls
are glowing red along with the roar of the flames? In Beggar Prince,
the effects of magic can be seen not only in the animation of the spell itself, but also
through color changes and special graphical displays in the arena!
When he needs a helping hand in battle, the prince of Shatt can make
writhing roots spring forth from the depths of the soil to put a tight squeeze
on the baddies.
In addition to the large number of normal spells, special magic also exists
which allows the prince to summon up savage beasts to take their aggression
out on the enemies.
